Are you interested in a career field in the Arts? Come learn about 3D art and what we are up to at Kirkwood’s main campus in Cedar Rapids. First, you’ll warm up in Kirkwood’s flat glass studio by making your very own fused glass mosaic coaster. Then we will heat things up a bit with a demonstration from Kirkwood’s Glass and Sculpture Instructor Christopher Gray. Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a performance theater on a busy night? Join the Englert theater manager during a showcase that features local musicians from the Iowa City community. This opportunity will show you what it takes to have a career in the music and live entertainment industry. You will learn how the front of the house team successfully manages a live music event, participate in pre-show meetings with the concession staff, security staff and usher volunteers. You will also learn how to effectively communicate with a team to ensure the event runs smoothly and on time. Cap of 3. This will be held on Saturday, April 11th.
