Career Services Update – Community Member Referrals

Beginning Monday, August 17, Career Services will transition employment and workforce assistance referrals for community members to external community partners, including IowaWORKS, which is conveniently located in East Hall on the Cedar Rapids campus. This change will allow our team to spend more time supporting our prospective and current students exploring career options, identifying goals, and navigating their career development journey.

Community members may also continue to access valuable career-related resources through the Resources & Support link, in addition to the supplementary resources listed below:

  • IowaWORKS Cedar Rapids – Part of the American Job Centers network, this state agency offers job search help, one-on-one career counseling, and job listings on IowaWORKS.
  • Cedar Rapids Public Library – Opportunity Center – Provides robust digital literacy training, direct job search support, and connections to essential social services. The Ladd Library branch also offers targeted, one-on-one resume help.
  • Linn County Community-Resources – The Employment Resources section includes a comprehensive directory listing community action agencies and employment support networks in the county.
