Who We Are

Workplace Learning Connection (WLC) is a work-based learning intermediary serving middle and high school students and educators. At WLC, we provide job shadow and internship experiences for 10-12 grade students in our seven-county region: Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington.

We help connect what students are learning in the classroom with real-world experiences and we help them begin taking steps to find their future career path.

Upcoming Job Shadow and Internship Opportunities

Job Shadow Portal I (Aug/Sept): Open Aug. 17, 2026 - Sept. 23, 2026 at 3 p.m.

Second Semester 2027 Internship Application Portal: Open Sept. 28, 2026 – Oct. 23, 2026 at 3 p.m. (Application open for 11th and 12th grade students).

Job Shadow Portal II (Nov): Oct. 31, 2026 - Nov. 11, 2026 at 3 p.m.

Summer 2027 Internship Application Portal: Open Dec. 21, 2026 – Feb. 5, 2027 at 3 p.m. (Students who are sophomores or juniors during the 2026-2027 school year are eligible to apply).
