The Eagle Leadership Program at Kirkwood allows you to build connections and create an experience that enhances your time both at Kirkwood and beyond. It’s designed to encourage participation in clubs and organizations, Leadership Series events, and campus events and activities.
Students who collect at least 10 points will earn a noncredit leadership certificate, which is a great addition to your resume. The program offers some great opportunities to build your network (friendships) too!
Students who go beyond the minimum requirements can collect more points to be a bronze-level (10 points), silver-level (12 points), gold-level (14 points), or platinum-level (15 points) student leader and earn a respective noncredit certificate.
Students who reach the silver, gold, or platinum levels will also be recognized at Kirkwood’s annual Awards Banquet held each spring. Students with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA will receive two bonus points; students with a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 will receive one bonus point.

Leading From Within: The Role of Self-Care and Self-Awareness in Leadership
Great leadership starts from within. In this interactive session, we’ll explore how self-care and self-awareness aren’t just personal wellness practices, they’re foundational leadership skills. Whether you’re leading a team, planning events, or managing your own growth, your ability to lead others is deeply connected to how you lead yourself. Together, we’ll unpack why sustainable leadership requires prioritizing your well-being and how developing self-awareness strengthens your confidence, relationships, and decision-making as a leader.
Get inspired by Kirkwood Athletic Director (and Head Baseball Coach) Todd Rima as he shares insights on leadership, teamwork, and what it takes to build a winning culture—on and off the field. This engaging talk offers valuable lessons for aspiring leaders in any field.
This event will take place in Iowa Room B on the second floor of Iowa Hall. This the second leadership series event and all students are welcome to attend.
