Talon is Kirkwood's learning management system provided through D2L. Talon provides a variety of online tools students use to complete materials, activities and assessments.
For Talon, D2L recommends high speed internet and the most up-to-date browser available which should be no older than 3 months old.
Browser Support
For most online courses, we suggest students be equipped to view Panopto videos.
Viewing Requirements
Respondus Lockdown Browser is used in many courses to facilitate quizzes and testing. Respondus has a list of their requirements on their webpage.
If Honorlock is an option for your monitored testing, you will need to use Google Chrome. Tablets and other mobile devices are not supported.
Online courses require specific course materials. Some courses use free online resources, while others use materials that must be purchased through the bookstore. These materials may include physical textbooks, digital textbooks available through your course (Day1Digital), or access codes that allow you to use online course materials.
Some online courses require students to take exams in a monitored environment. Exams may be completed at a Kirkwood location, at an alternate approved testing site, or virtually using Honorlock.
