What is Dance Marathon?
Dance Marathon is a nationally recognized event held on college campuses to benefit families of children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. As part of Kirkwood’s Dance Marathon, students raise money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. Kirkwood is currently the only community college in Iowa (and one of only a few in the nation!) that hosts its own Dance Marathon event.
What is the Dance Marathon event?
Participants can expect a fun-filled night packed with free food, music, games, prizes, a photo booth, talent show, and more! It is a great way to make new friends! All of the money raised throughout the year is celebrated during the event. The fourth annual Dance Marathon event will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Michael J Gould Recreation Center on main campus in Cedar Rapids. The admission fee is $10 at the door, or you can sign up in advance online.
Why should you get involved?
Being part of Dance Marathon allows you to meet new people, have lots of fun, and make a real difference to families with children who have life-threatening illnesses. It’s also a great resume builder!
