Performing Arts Scholarship Audition Day: April 5, 2024


Kirkwood Community College awards over $130,000 in scholarships to students involved in the performing arts. Awards are available to students enrolled in any of the more than 120 career and college transfer programs at Kirkwood.


  • Four-year experience at a two year price
  • Music and Theatre courses easily transfer to four-year schools
  • Kirkwood has articulation agreements with the University of Iowa, Coe College, and the University of Northern Iowa
  • Kirkwood is Iowa's only community college accredited by the National Association of Schools and Music (NASM) 
  • More than 120 career and college transfer programs
  • Instructors are experts in their fields, and many hold doctoral degrees


The 2024 performing arts scholarship auditions will be held on Friday, April 5. 

Music Audition requirements
  • One solo selection, classical or popular work, with accompaniment if applicable. Staff pianists will be provided.

Theatre Audition requirements
  • Two contrasting monologues (one minute each) OR

  • If interested in musical theater, one song (60-90 second cut) and one monologue

  • Production photos and resumes welcome
