Put the Kirkwood for Kids Camp Summer Camp on your calendar! Camp has been revamped and reimagined with fun, engaging classes you won't want to miss! Students will build lasting friendships in their cohort groups and extended classroom times allow for thorough investigation of each topic. Bus transportation provided. Locations include Kalona Library and Highland Riverside Elementary. We also have a separate camp experience designed for middle school students called Camp Exploration at Kirkwood. Check it out! Kindergarten & AK Tuition: $110 (materials and fees included) Students will explore a new theme each day with engaging crafts, games, and theme-based activities. Daily themes are: Hawaiian Hoopla Aloha, campers! Grab your leis and sunglasses—it’s time for a tropical celebration! We’ll dance the hula, make colorful flower crafts, and enjoy island-inspired games and snacks. Get ready to surf into fun as we learn about ocean animals and the beauty of Hawaii’s beaches! Shipwrecked! A Pirate Adventure Ahoy, mateys! Join our crew as we set sail on a grand pirate adventure. We’ll search for hidden treasure, build our own pirate hats, and practice our “arrrs” while learning about maps and teamwork. It’s a swashbuckling week full of imagination and discovery! Water World Exploration Dive into a week of water-filled wonder! Campers will explore the amazing world beneath the waves with splashy science experiments, water games, and creative ocean crafts. From jellyfish to whales, we’ll discover the magic of marine life—without even getting (too) wet! Under the Big Top Step right up - the circus is in town! Campers will giggle and gasp as they become clowns, jugglers, and ringmasters for a week of colorful fun. We’ll create circus crafts, play big top games, and celebrate all the joy and silliness that make the circus so special!
1st & 2nd Grade Tuition: $110 (materials and fees included) Students attend two classes each day, participating in each of the exciting classes listed below. Movin' and Groovin' Let’s get movin’ and groovin’! Kids will dance, jump, stretch, and play their way through fun activities that get their bodies moving and their smiles shining. From silly dance steps to playful games, this upbeat class is all about staying active, feeling great, and having a blast while we move to the music! Hungry for Breakfast What is the most important meal of the day? BREAKFAST! Learn how to measure, stir and read a recipe while making healthy breakfast food. Can you say YUM?! Rock the Chalk Calling all Chalk Stars! Spark your imagination on a large scale and create with every color of the rainbow. Are you a winner on the racetrack that you design? Are you up for the challenge of drawing and playing the World’s largest Candy Land game? We have the sidewalk chalk and a whole lot of cement. You bring your creativity! Things that Go Bump in the Night Bats! Owls! Mountain Lions! OH MY! What are the animals up to, after we go to bed? Join us to discover what animals are on the prowl after the sun goes down. Awesome Animal Art Are you an animal lover? These projects will be all about furry, scaly, and feathered friends. Explore artistic mediums, drawing inspiration for animals from all over the world. Paint, draw and build wild masterpieces. Messy Science (2 day) Do you think bubbles are breathtaking? Does fizz fascinate you? Has slime gotten you into a sticky situation? Get hands-on experience with the wacky science that makes things ooze and pop. America's Birthday Bash Get ready to celebrate 250 years of the United States! In this fun and interactive class, students will travel back to 1776 to discover how America began and why we celebrate its birthday.
3rd – 5th Grade Tuition: $110 (materials and fees included) Students attend two classes each day, participating in each of the exciting classes listed below. Wacky Pool Noodle Workshop It’s time to get creative and curious! In this hands-on class, kids will use pool noodles to explore both art and science. We’ll build wacky sculptures, test floaty noodle experiments, and discover how shapes, balance, and motion work - all while making colorful noodle masterpieces. Get ready for a splash of imagination and a dash of discovery! Larger than Life Games MAMMOTH SIZED fun calls for ENORMOUS games! Lawn games are okay, but GIGANTIC lawn games make for a BIG TIME party! Join this class for teamwork, friendly competition and lots of laughs. Ready. Set. LAUNCH! Spark your inner engineer and propel yourself into the future. Take this opportunity to build a catapult and try out your slingshot skills. Hurtle yourself into the amazing world of physics. Coding: The Language of the Future Bring computer programming to life with coding. Make computers perform tasks by speaking their language. In this class, we will learn computer programming skills using fun and interactive games. Use problem solving and logic, to not only use technology, but also create it! The power is in your fingers! Trash to Treasure Do you have the eye to see the potential in unwanted items? Do you have the talent to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary? Save the environment while creating a spectacular team challenge project. Your imagination is the limit! The Stuff Myths and Legends are Made Of Is the Loch Ness Monster real? What do our planets have to do with Roman mythology? Did EVERYTHING King Midas touch turn to gold? Are unicorns really just a horse with a horn? Learn how myths and legends shape a culture’s beliefs, and how people view the world. Grossology What’s grosser than moldy cheese? What’s ickier than a slimy worm? What’s stickier than chewed up bubble gum? Experiment with science and find the answers in Grossology. Celebrate 250! Get ready for a star-spangled celebration! In this class, students will explore how American began, discover the story of the American Revolution, and learn why the Declaration of Independence made history. Through interactive activities, storytelling, and a creative birthday project, kids will celebrate 250 years of freedom, leadership, and the American spirit in a fun and meaningful way.

Tuition: Thanks to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation, this camp is free for the first 40 registrants. Welcome to Camp Connect! Get ready for a summer of friendship, discovery, and fun! Camp Connect brings students from all language backgrounds together for hands-on activities, creative projects, and interactive language adventures that make learning exciting and natural. Students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and form meaningful cross-culture friendships that last beyond summer. Join us for an amazing experience!
