Complete a college degree with Liberal Arts and Science transfer courses, earn college credit while in high school through our industry-focused Career Academies, earn your high school equivalency diploma, learn English language skills, or simply take continuing education classes, and more!

Kirkwood’s Washington County Regional Center features innovative programming provided through partnerships with several local high schools. The unique cooperation gets high school students hands-on career experience and transferrable college credit at NO COST to their families!

The Washington County Regional Center offers students the opportunity to participate in several different Career Academy programs. These Career Academy programs are designed to give students a jump start on their college career and explore for a possible career.

Career Academies are scheduled during morning and afternoon sessions. High school students spend about half of their day at the Regional Center and the other half back at their high school.

Talk to your high school guidance counselor to see the complete Career Academy schedule and to determine which session would work best with your schedule.

 

  • Morning Academies meet: Monday – Friday, 7:45 – 9:15 a.m.
  • Morning Companion Courses meet: 9:40 – 10:35 a.m.
  • Afternoon Academies meet: Monday – Friday, 1:20 – 2:50 p.m.
  • Afternoon Companion Courses meet: Noon – 12:55 p.m.

At Washington County Regional Center, our state-of-the art classrooms and lab spaces allow us to offer innovative options including:

  • Basic Home Improvement series – including interior, exterior and electrical home repair and kitchen and bath remodeling

  • Kirkwood for Kids Summer Camp programming

 

  • Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language courses
  • College readiness assessment, placement exams, and National Career Readiness Certification
  • Adult High School diploma and HiSET
  • Washington Regional Alternative Program (WRAP) – an alternative high school program for students in partner school districts. To determine eligibility, students should contact their high school regarding the application process.
  • Writing lab, developmental math emporium, test center, and tutor center
  • Financial aid services, academic advising, career counseling, and more!
