Where are you going?

That's a tricky question. Whether your plans are to earn a four-year degree or start working when you're done at Kirkwood, we can lead you in the right direction.

With the English department you can fulfill your communications and core humanities requirements, study special literary topics or check out our creative writing, technical writing or publishing courses, or get help for college reading or study needs. You can even get your own work published in the Cedar Valley Divide, our student literary and artwork showcase.

If you are planning to transfer to a 4-year college or university and major in English, we would like to know you and help you with advising and course selection. We would also like to invite you to join us when we have special events for students with an interest in English, in creative writing, in literature or in publishing. Please e-mail Sue Kuennen at Sue.Kuennen@kirkwood.edu during fall of spring semesters, or stop by 3051 Cedar Hall or call us at 319-398-4998 to let us know of your interest or if you have any questions.
