Updates:
September 2013:

Access to the NAE and ADR screens was addressed and reduced from 250 employees to approximately 75 employees. There is a defined process and training to allow new employees to obtain access to Person Entry screens in Colleague. The next project is to review entry access as is affects student information while they persist at Kirkwood.

January 2013:

The Operations Team has identified necessary security and access and it relates to the NAE, ADR, ADSU and RGN screens. They will continue to evaluate access based on function.

June 2012:

The Operations team reviewed the key elements of the Data Resource Policy and identified the guiding principles needed for quality data.  We recommend following students through our current data process and addressing issues on multiple dimensions as they are encountered.  The first step in this process is to review data entry related to the NAE screen in Colleague. This team is in the process of identifying all entry points for demographic information in Colleague.

January 2012:

The Information Excellence Security Team began evaluating the Colleague access by HR Status. They will begin meeting with appropriate department representatives to identify the level of access that will enable them best serve our students.

icon 1.3 Establish data process improvement and documentation standards to improve data quality and reporting. (Cheri Kampman, Patrick Clemence)01/30/2012 - 08/30/2013
Updates:
September 2013:

Training documentation has been created for the person record. Training for all departments and programs as it relates to Person Record Entry into Colleague has been completed. The training included handling and entering employee and student records in a single defined manner.  The next project will be to review the entry points into the system of record as it affects persistent students. A secondary project has begun and this project will evaluate how staff directory information is collected. This project is currently scheduled to start development late spring of 2014.

January 2013:

This tactic team has began development of training for all faculty and staff that will enter data to create the person record. This tactic is on schedule to begin conducting training in mid-April.

June 2012:

Determining how to best accomplish consistent and accurate data entry in every area of the college is critical to the success of this project. The first step is to establish the process and content experts of this area as owners of the project. This cross functional team will begin by evaluating the demographic information entered into Colleague. They will then establish the best practices for entry and spearhead the change management needed to accomplish elements crucial to the success of the project such as standard processes, supporting documentation (process and policy) and specific training.

March 2012:

The Information Excellence Team has begun the creation of a college wide data glossary. They will continue to expand and vet these definitions throughout the College. Foundational tasks are being performed to ensure a smooth implementation of Blackboard Analytics.
