At the program conference, you will be given information about the Hospitality Arts Programs. You will also be informed of any additional admission requirements. This is your opportunity to have your questions answered by the program coordinator.

At the program conference you will fill out a Program Conference Checklist. You may be accepted to the program or added to the wait list for the technical portion of the program only when you have met all admission criteria. The admission criteria for Hospitality arts programs are: 1) Apply to Kirkwood Community College, 2) attend a Program Conference, and 3) take COMPASS placement tests or send recent ACT scores to Kirkwood. Prospective hospitality students must meet minimum placement test scores, or are required to successfully complete developmental classes before being accepted into a program.
If you have not already done so, apply for the program online at and complete a placement test. ACT or COMPASS scores are accepted.
Hospitality Arts programs require attendance at a Program Conference before the student is accepted into the program. In order for us to be prepared for prospective students, you need to register for a Program Conference. A one-hour Program Conference will be held on the dates listed below.
To register for a Program Conference, fill out and submit the following form. There is no charge for the program conference. Program conferences are held each semester.
All Program Conferences are held in the Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts, Room 198. This is adjacent to the Hotel at Kirkwood Center located at 7725 Kirkwood Blvd. SW. Please use the 76th Ave entrance to the complex.
