Humane Officer Training

Humane Officer Training

Explore Humane Animal Care

Until recently, many animal care and control workers entered the field with little or no specialized training. Increased interaction with the public, public demand for humane animal care, limited euthanasia, and adoption of shelter animals has put new demands for knowledgeable and professional shelter employees.

In this two-year A.A.S. program you'll learn what it takes to step into careers at municipal animal control agencies, non-profit humane societies, or as an animal welfare inspector.

The Humane Officer Training program is no longer admitting students. Please call 319-398-5609 for more information.
