The participant will learn cueing and prompting skills, as well as critical thinking skills to determine when the client requires more assistance. This six (6) hour course builds a basic foundation of knowledge and introduction to the Direct Care Workers profession.
Home and Community Living (HCL)
This thirteen (13) hour course introduces the Direct Care Worker to skills and services that enhance and or maintain independence, access community supports and services, and achieve personal goals of the individual client.
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL)
This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services to assist an individual with daily living tasks to function independently in a home or community setting.
Health Monitoring and Maintenance
This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services that support and maintain an individual’s health and provide functional support for certain conditions.
Personal Activities of Daily Living
This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services to assist an individual in meeting their basic needs.
Personal Support (PS)
This course introduces the Direct Care Worker to services to support individuals as they perform personal activities of daily living.
