Follow these steps DAILY to increase McAfee's spam intelligence. Watch the short video at the bottom of this page for a full explanation of the McAfee Quarantined Email.
1. Open the email from “User Quarantine Release”.
2. Click on the first hyperlink in this email to view a list of all of your quarantined messages. The link will begin with https://spam1.kirkwood.edu/ . . . or https://spam2.kirkwood.edu/ . . . Always make sure that kirkwood.edu is included in the URL link.
3. On the McAfee Quarantine release web page, you will see a list of the quarantined email. You have two choices:
a. You may choose to Release the email if the email is from a legitimate and recognized sender. If you release the email, the quarantined email will be allowed to enter your Inbox in Outlook. However, sometimes a quarantined email will go to the Junk folder, if you previously had rules defined.
b. Or, you may choose to Delete the email. When you delete the email, the email is deleted from the server and cannot be restored. When you click on Delete, you are confirming that the email is a spam email.
c. Hint: If you have more than one quarantined email that you wish to delete, you can click on the Delete link at the top of the email. This will check all of the Delete boxes for each quarantined email.
4. Then click on Submit. You will be prompted “The operation you requested has been completed successfully.”
5. Close the browser window.
6. Delete the quarantined notification email that you received.
