Proof of Other Training
Any contractor planning on performing work at the participating facilities will be required to complete the site-specific orientation for the plant in which they will be performing work. You may be released from taking the OSHA Basic Safety Awareness course if you have proof of valid (within two calendar years) "third-party training" such as the OSHA 10-hour card or the OSHA Basic Safety Awareness course from another approved Safety Council organization (Ex: Three Rivers Safety Council in Joliet, Eastern Iowa Safety Council, Houston Area Contractors' Safety Council, Associated General Contractors, Trade Union Sponsored Course, etc.). Please refer to
www.arsc.net for information on other safety councils.

Those having proof of valid third-party training will be required (at no cost) to take the OSHA Basic Safety Awareness test to prove mastery and retention of the material. Upon successful completion of the test, you will be permitted to take the orientation courses desired immediately. If you fail the test, you will be required to come back at a later date and complete the OSHA Basic Safety Awareness course in its entirety before taking any of the required specific orientation courses.

You MUST bring the valid third-party card to the training center, as well as your picture ID, in order to "test-out" of the OSHA Basic Safety Awareness course.
