What We Do

The Telecommunications Shop has the task of installation, maintenance and repair of the seven county duplex microwave system (Telelink), the ten ITFS (Instructional Television Fixed Service) television transmitters, KTS Master Control and all associated distance learning classrooms at all of the college facilities, as well as the ICN distance learning classrooms located within the seven county K-12 districts. The Telecom Shop is also responsible for the on-campus cable television system, the KCCK-FM facilities, television production facilities, satellite uplink and downlink facilities and audio visual equipment repair for the college, seven county K-12 school districts and other non-profit organizations.

How to Obtain Repair of Equipment

If you are having a problem with a piece of equipment or a system that the Telecom Shop is responsible for, you may call extension 5662 to report the problem. The problem will be logged in on the Service Order system and given a priority. If equipment malfunctions are affecting classroom instruction, the problem is given top priority and every attempt is made to repair the problem before the next class. If equipment malfunctions do not directly affect classroom instruction, the repairs are made in the order in which received.
