ATTENTION: 1098T Update

Hope Scholarship Tax Credit Form
Lifetime Learning Tax Credit

Kirkwood has contracted with University Accounting Services to provide the 1098T Forms (tuition information for year end tax filing). The 1098T forms will be available at http://www.getmydocument.com/. Students, who have not accessed their 1098T form at that web site, by late January, will have a form mailed to them from U.A.S. Anytime thereafter, students can obtain a copy of their 1098T form by going to the "getmydocument" web site or by calling U.A.S. at 1/800/999-6227.

For regulations and information about filing for either of the tax credits, students, parents, and guardians should contact their tax accountant or go to http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/ and access IRS Form 8863 for more information.

Individuals filing for the tax credits are not required to send a copy of the 1098T form with their taxes. The 1098T form is for the student's records. In most instances, copies of the student's tuition statements and cancelled checks can be used when preparing taxes.

1999 - current

Students may call for 1098T detail from a previous calendar year at 319-398-5555 or 319-398-5631. That tuition/grant and scholarship statement from a specific year (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004), would then be mailed to the student.

Students who come to school requesting a 1098T form from a previous calendar year will need to have a picture ID with them and they should go to Accounting Services (219 Kirkwood Hall) to obtain their 1098T detail.

1098T tuition information can never be given over the phone.
