You can add funds to your EagleCard in several ways:
Financial Aid and the EagleCard
If you have financial aid that you were planning to use at the bookstore, and you want to know what the amount is, go to EagleNet and log in with your k number and password. Click “EagleNet for Students,” then “My Bill By Term.” This will show how much you have (if any) left over to buy books.
These funds DO NOT automatically transfer to your EagleCard. If you swiped your EagleCard at one of the machines on campus and the balance was zero, that does not necessarily mean you don’t have any financial aid funds available.
The bookstore asks you to present your EagleCard when you buy books in order to verify your identity and your k number, not to use it as payment. Transfer financial aid to your EagleCard by going to the EagleCard office at 122 Iowa Hall; you can transfer up to $500.
EagleCard Deposit Centers
Currency and credit/debit deposits can be made to your EagleCard at any of our EagleCard Deposit Centers. These “cash to card” machines are located:
- Linn Hall lobby
- Iowa Hall lobby
- Second floor, Kirkwood Hall (Business Services)
- The EagleCard office (122 Iowa Hall)
- Iowa City Campus lobby
Funds can be added to the EagleCard in the form of cash or credit/debit card in an amount of $1 or more at any time at any EagleCard Deposit Center. EagleCard Deposit Centers accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Cash, credit/debit card and personal check** deposits will be accepted during normal business hours at Business Services and the EagleCard office. Financial aid can be transferred to the EagleCard at the EagleCard office.
**There is a $50 per day limit to personal check deposits.

Available 24 hours a day! MasterCard, Visa and Discover debit/credit cards are all accepted.
To make a guest deposit you must know the students first name, last name and k number (customer number). Please enter the students name in capital letters. After entering this information correctly, you will be able to create a deposit to the cardholder's EagleCard account using a valid credit card (Master Card, Visa or Discover). These funds will be available on the EagleCard immediately.

By Mail
You can even mail a personal check for deposit to an EagleCard debit account.
- Include the EagleCard holder's full name and social security number or EagleCard number.
- Write “EagleCard Debit Account deposit” in the check’s memo section.

The EagleCard office will accept EagleCard account deposits, meal plan purchases and answer your questions. We are located in 122 Iowa Hall.
