College and Career Fair
High school students attending school in Linn County, and their parents, are encouraged to attend.
Tuesday, March 7, at Marion High School (675 S. 15th Street)
Information sessions from 5:30–7 p.m.
Students and parents may attend up to three 25-minute sessions.
Booths will be open from 6:30-8 p.m.
Representatives from several colleges and area businesses will be there to talk with students and parents about college and career options. Find out about corridor-area Hot Jobs, career decision-making resources, resume writing and interviewing tips, job shadows, internships, Iowa College Access Network, and Kirkwood Community College Credit in High School program as well! All area high school students and their parents are welcome.

The WLC Online portal will re-open for summer/fall internship applications on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 and will close on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Check out the Internship home page for more information on how to apply. Please check with your specific school’s internal deadline.

|New Staff Members!
WLC welcomes two new rock stars to our team in 2017! Becky Briggs joined the WLC team in January as the VITAL Work-based Learning Program Specialist. She will serve students in the KCC main campus VITAL program with a variety of work-based learning experiences as well as build capacity in the region for students with IEP’s. Becky is working out of Cedar Hall on main campus. Carole Hebl joined the WLC team in January as well as a PT Business Liaison working out of the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa. Carole will be connecting Johnson county area businesses with the many volunteer opportunities found in the programs of Workplace Learning Connection. Join us in welcoming our newest opportunity connectors!
