**You must complete ALL parts of ALL four steps to have your request approved**


Step 1: (If wanting online) Have you ever taken an online course before with Kirkwood?
A.    If yes proceed to Step 4
B.    If no please see Step 2 for qualifications
 
Step 2 ------- (See Step 3 for by-passing this with completed college degree): Do we have test scores on file for you, and are they high enough?
A.    If yes proceed to Step 4
B.    If no Do you have a completed college degree, and if yes, skip to Step 3
C.    If no If you have scores that are high enough, please email a scanned copy of your scores to distancelearning@kirkwood.edu. (This is ONLY allowed for 6.0 credits or less)
 
In the subject line of the e-mail put: Your Name / Test Scores
Body of e-mail: Name / k# / Phone number / Type of test scores attached to e-mail
 
NOTE: You are still required to have your institution or ACT submit an official copy of your test scores to Kirkwood. To be eligible for Online courses, we need to have one of the following Placement Test groupings on file with proper scores:

NOTE: International students must either have a degree or take the COMPASS or ACT test, in order to take more than six credit hours in a semester, regardless of their TOFEL scores.
**Fall/Spring they can only take 1 class**
 
Step 3: Do you have a completed college degree?
             (We accept 2 year college degrees or higher. We do not accept: Certificates or Diplomas)
A.    If yes, and on file  proceed to Step 4.
B.    If yes, but not on file You will need to have an official college transcript submitted to Kirkwood. Allow at least two weeks for this transcript to be evaluated. Submittal information can be found on our main Kirkwood website at www.Kirkwood.edu
C.    If no, you do not qualify under this step. Please refer back to Step 2
1.     Review your existing schedule using EagleNet 
2.     Select classes using EagleNet in which you would like to take
3.     Read course descriptions, verify prerequisites are met, and verify there is space in the class
4.   Submit our late registration form. Your request will be sent to the instructor as well as the Distance Learning Department.
5.     The instructor will approve or deny your acceptance. The instructor will do a reply-to-all to let us know this information. 
6.  Once we receive the instructor's approval e-mail, your registration will be processed within 72 hours with the following stipulations: A seat is still available when we go to register you and you have met the requirements for taking an ONLINE class per our Registration Guidelines (Which can be found on our main website www.kirkwood.edu/distancelearning). Once registered, an e-mail will be sent back to the instructor's approval e-mail that you have been added to the course.
 
FIRST TIME ONLINE STUDENTS:
If this will be your first online course with Kirkwood, once you are officially registered for a course, you will need to take this online quiz before you have access to your course in Angel. www.kirkwood.edu/online - Required Information Video and Quiz
