For students, college can be a time of great change, uncertainty and excitement. Counselors serve in the capacity of someone who listens to, acts as an advocate for and as a liaison among students, faculty and administration. Students with physical or learning disabilities meet with counselors to receive accommodations and assistance with classes. Others may seek the advice of a counselor in the areas of employment opportunities, trends and career development and exploration.

Counseling is a free service to all Kirkwood students. To meet with a counselor stop by the information desk or call (319) 887-3658 to set up an appointment, indicating what type of counseling services you need. The Iowa City Campus offers individual appointments for academic and personal counseling and group seminars for career exploration
