Cedar Employment Opportunities (CEO) operates from a facility in Tipton, Iowa. CEO provides vocational services to moderately and severely disabled adults. We focus on developing and maintaining work and social skills that assist the individual client toward independent living and meaningful employment.

Case management for the CEO clients is provided jointly by the program staff and the Cedar County case managers. Employability training and earnings are addressed by the CEO staff. Housing and life skills are handled by the county case managers.

As a sheltered workshop, CEO offers employment opportunities to our clients by bringing in work from local employers. Some of the jobs include sorting recycled paper and plastic products, paper shredding, small parts assembly and packaging, machine operations, bulk mailings, janitorial and lawn care services, and collating, labeling and binding printed materials. CEO has contracts for work projects from Kirkwood Community College, North Cedar Recycling, Cedar Crest Manufacturing and Lueck Label Manufacturing, as well as various other community employers and organizations.

CEO is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Additional information can be received by contacting Barb Mussman, Rehabilitation Services director at barb.mussman@kirkwood.edu, 319-398-5454 or by calling the CEO facility at 1-563-886-6076.
