of Oral Communication. She believes in Process Education and she uses it in her classes. She believes in facilitating learning among students instead of lecturing. Groups are very important in her classes and so are stylish shoes.

  Emily has been teaching speech classes at Kirkwood since 2008.   She earned her B.A. and M.A in communication studies from Northern Illinois University.  Her academic interests include interpersonal relationships, group decision making, computer-mediated communication, and online learning.  In her free time, she spending time with her husband and cat, reading, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings!

Andrew has been teaching at Kirkwood community college since 1996. His focus is Fundamentals of Oral Communication. In addition, he has taught Public Speaking and Group Communication. His teaching philosophy centers on “Desire” Motivational Learning. Student interaction is respected and encouraged. Also, he has spoken professionally in Canada and the U.S.A. His hobbies are photography, oil painting, and sculpture. He believes in supporting the arts for freedom of expression. His committees are ecology and safety for the college.
