The state of Iowa offers many different financial aid programs such as the Iowa Grant program and the Iowa Vocational-Technical Grant program.
In order to be considered for state financial aid programs, a student has to submit the FAFSA before July 1. In addition to the FAFSA, there is an Iowa Financial Aid Application for the awards listed below:
• All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship
• All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant
• Governor Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship
• Education & Training Voucher Program
• Iowa National Guard Education Assistance Program (NGEAP)
Students apply online for those programs through the web portal
. After creating an account, a financial aid wizard will walk applicants through the Iowa Financial Aid application process. The web portal allows applicants to save and return to the application, view their application for future reference, as well as provide applicants with access to all of the career and college planning and other tools available in the portal.
