Jill Williams is in her third season on the Kirkwood staff. Within the first two seasons she guided the Eagles to two Regional Championship matches. The Eagles have recorded a 48-38 record under Williams.
Continuning with the Kirkwood tradition of success both on the court and in the classroom, 8 players were named to All-Region Teams, 16 All-Region Academic Teams. While 3 also earned prestigious acadmic All-American status.
Prior to her arrival at Kirkwood, Williams was the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Upper Iowa University for six seasons. Before working for the Peacocks, Williams served as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Quincy University from 1996-1998. She spent three years at LaHarpe School District teaching physical education and health. While at LaHarpe, Williams also served as the Head Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Track and Assistant Softball Coach.
Williams graduated from Oelwein High School. She earned her B.S. from Upper Iowa University in Physical Education and Recreation Administration, along with Coaching and Health Endorsements. | |

Mike Embretson is in his second year as assistant coach for the Kirkwood Eagles. He graduated from UNI in 1995 with a BA in Physical Education/Coaching. His past experience includes coaching volleyball at Marshalltown for three years and was the Head Volleyball Coach at Benton Community High School for nine years. Coach Embretson has been Legends volleyball club organizer for eight years and continues to play USVA, which he began in 1989. He has played at all levels from B to A, both co-ed and men’s.
Currently Coach Embretson teaches Physical Education At Benton Community Schools. He and his wife Becki, have two children: Grant 5, and Grace 3.
