Severe Weather Conditions

A tornado warning means a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. Persons close to the storm should take shelter immediately and remain there until the danger has passed. Seek shelter in building interiors, such as hallways, preferably on lower levels. Avoid windows, doors and large open areas, such as gymnasiums, lobbies and theaters.

A thunderstorm warning means a severe thunderstorm has been indicated by weather radar. Persons in wooden frame structures should take shelter immediately and remain there until danger has passed.
