How did Kirkwood leverage previous tax levy funds?
By combining tax levy funds, private contributions, grants and tuition revenue, Kirkwood accomplished:
-- Built the Iowa Equestrian Center, the Midwest's premier equine facility.
-- Expanded the Iowa City Campus and added on to Washington Hall, home to Kirkwood's agriculture programs.
-- Completed phase II of the Iowa Equestrian Center and constructed the Mansfield Center at the Cedar Rapids campus.
--- Constructed Nielsen Hall at the Cedar Rapids campus. Nielsen Hall houses Kirkwood's business programs.
-- Completed North Loop Road and again added on to our ever-growing Iowa City Campus.
-- Built the Kirkwood Recreation Center and erected the Community Training and Response Center.
-- Completed a complete remodel of the Bookstore and Benton Hall at the Cedar Rapids campus.
-- Renovated Iowa Hall and added the Nielsen Hall sculpture garden.
-- Made the windows in Linn Hall more energy efficient and completed other ADA upgrades, as well as remodeling the Kirkwood Hall server room.
-- Constructed a new kiln building and upgraded the Jones Hall HVAC area.
-- Completed an addition to Jones Hall at the Cedar Rapids campus and completed construction of the Jones County Regional Education Center, which will bring much of what is available at our Cedar Rapids campus to Jones County and surrounding areas.
