Ashlee Andersen
Heather VanHyning, a sophomore from Colona, IL was tabbed as the best catcher in the league. Last season she earned 2nd team All-Region, but this season she decided to prove that everyone was wrong last year. She batted 442 with 69 hits, 12 doubles, 5 home runs, 46 RBI's, and 18 walks. For her defensive play on the year she was named Rgion XI defensive player of the year. She threw out 11 of 18 would be base stealers.
Kylee Knop, a freshman Pitcher from Oxfrod, GA was named for her prformance in the circle throughout the season. She recorded a 22-5 record 12-2 conference record. Ranked 9th nationally in ERA (1.27) and 11th in total strike outs (138). Opposing teams were held to only batting .202 against her.
Chelsea Parrish, a freshman from Lawerence, was honored as the best DP in the league. She batted 440 on the year with 59 hits, 4 home runs, 30 runs scored, 40 RBI's and 20 walks.
Molly Link, A freshman from Holy Cross, IA was honored as the best second basemans in the league. Molly had only 4 errors in 140 chances on the season for an outstanding 971 fielding percentage. She also hit well too. She batted 374 with 58 hits, 39 runs scored,39 RBI's, 12 doubles, 3 triples, and 2 HR's.
Carlie Schnoebelen, a freshman from New Hampton, IA was honored as one od the best outfielders in the league. Carlie had a great season as the Eagles leadoff hitter. She batted 401 with 71 hits, 6 double, 3 triples, 10 home runs, 65 runs scored, 35 stolen bases, and 46 RBI's. Carlie ranked 8th in the nation in stolen bases, and 9th in runs scored.
2nd Team
Cydney Green, a sophomore from Toddville, IA was honored for her play at 1st base. Cydney is a solid defender, she finished the season with 982 fielding percentage, ending with 5 errors in 281 chances. Cyd hit 331 with 43 hits, 8 doubles, 3 home runs, and 34 RBI's.
Stephanie Wieck, a sophomore form Des Moines, IA was named to the team for her play at short stop and at the plate. After switching her to the left side Steph had a tremendous year. She batted 407, with 55 hits, 38 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, and 24 RBI's. she finished the season with a 902 fielding percentage.
Kayla Streb, a sophomore from North Liberty has been named 2nd team as a utilty for the second straight year. Kayla was 9-2 on the year pitching, and ranked 24th with a 1.6 ERA. She was also a very dependable center fielder when she did not pitch. She hit 291, with 4 doubles, 23 runs scored, 13 stolen bases and a team leading 8 sacrifices.
Jamie Davis, a freshman from Muscatine, IA was named to the 2nd team for her performance in the circle. Jamie tallied a 10-3 record with 91 strike outs in 75 innings of work which earned her a ranking of 9th nationally in strikeouts per inning. She is also ranked 10th in ERA (1.30).
Honorable Mention
Ashlee Andersen, a sophomore from Sioux City, IA was named as an honorable mention outfielder. Ashlee hit 406 on the year with 8 stolen bases and 26 runs scored.
