Eighty-six percent of Workplace Learning Connection student interns said their experiences increased their awareness of local careers.
One of the best ways we can stop Iowa’s skilled worker retention challenges is to show young people that there are many career opportunities right here in the Corridor. You can do that by hosting interns through the Workplace Learning Connection.
You’ll work with students and give them a head start on their careers through hands-on, uncompensated, academic work experience. Internships are limited to 45 to 90 hours total for 11th and 12th grade students.
In the end, students experience what local employers have to offer. Employers explore their future workforce and nurture the relationships necessary to fill critical positions with homegrown talent.
