Do I have a Virus?  Is this Email a Hoax?

How to Scan for Viruses using Trend:

  1. Locate blue stop sign shape in the system tray (lower right corner of your screen). It should have a yellow squiggle line in it. Right click on it and select OfficeScan Console.
  2. In the OfficeScan Client dialog  box you should now see a list of your drives. Indicate which drive you would like to scan by clicking in the box to the left of it. We recommend scanning drive C:.
  3. Click on the Scan button which is now available on the right.
  4. When the scan is complete and if the results box contains a virus found message, contact the Help Desk.

Here is a website where you can check to see if the email you received is actually  just a hoax or a true virus.  The Help Desk recommends that if you receive a hoax email, do NOT forward the email to addresses in your Address Book. Delete the hoax email.
