The Grants Services Office staff is here to provide you with leadership and direction when you search for external funds, funds that may be used to support academic programs, student services, administrative operations, and special projects. As the Grants Services Office staff works with you to secure funding from both public and private sector foundations, we will:

  • Provide current information about sources of grant funding (federal, state, local private);
  • Obtain and clarify current guidelines (RFP's) for the application process;
  • Act as liason with funding agency personnel (for example, we can clarify questions about the selection criteria;
  • Help develop ideas for projects and prepare the budget to meet all policy requirements;
  • Edit or critique your proposal submitted to funding agencies;
  • Compile the final proposal for submission, ensuring it meets all RFP guidelines;
  • Obtain the signature of the certifying official of the College;
  • Mail or submit electronically all proposals meeting application deadline dates;
  • Maintain file copies of all pending, funded, and unfunded proposals submitted by KCC;
  • Negotiate awards;
  • Set up award reviews when a grant is funded;
  • Assist with filing reports; and
  • Provide on-going grant management and closeout reporting support.
