Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service provided by the library, that allows you to borrow materials (articles, books, and sometimes videos) from libraries across Iowa and across the U.S., at no charge to you. Please limit yourself to no more than 5 requests at a time, and allow 3 to 10 days for your items to arrive. The library will notify you when items are ready to be picked up. To see if Kirkwood Library already owns the item you want, click here to search the catalog.
Please note: If you are using an EBSCOhost or FirstSearch database, there is an easier way to request your item. On EBSCOhost you will see a link that says "Click to request Inter Library Loan of this article." On FirstSearch you'll see a link that says "Borrow this item from another library". Each of these links will take you to a form for requesting the item.
If you have any questions about filling out the form, please call the Information (Reference) Desk:(319) 398-5697 for the Cedar Rapids area(319) 887-3612 for the Iowa City area 1-866-452-8504 for a toll-free line
