Sometimes you just need a friendly ear, and that's just what you'll find in Counseling Services. We're professionally trained and are here to help you discuss personal, social or emotional issues that you may not be able to discuss with a friend, roommate or family member.

Make an appointment if you'd like to talk with one of our counselors. Everything you share is confidential and our services are free. Call 319-398-5471 or 1-800-332-2055 ext. 5471.

Free and anonymous online screenings are available 24 hours a day for Kirkwood Community College students and staff. Take a questionnaire to see if you may have symptoms of depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, bipolar disorder, alcohol abuse, or post-traumatic stress. Click here to access the Online Screening page.

We also have a resource library of self-help information ranging from alcohol abuse, depression, managing stress, self-esteem, time management and suicide.

The Virtual Pamphlet Collection offers self-assessment tools and weekly mental health questions and answers.

If you’re feeling suicidal, please call the 24-hour Foundation 2 hotline at 319-362-2174 or 800-332-4224.
