As the department Office Coordinator, Lori is often the first person that greets students when they arrive. Lori is also the department contact person for anyone requesting information about the services within the Advising & Transfer Center. Lori joined Kirkwood in 1986, and prior to that, she was a clerical supervisor at Shive-Hattery Engineers.

Alison started working at Kirkwood as a work-study student in 2006. She earned her A.A. degree with an emphasis in Communications Media/Public relations from Kirkwood in 2007, and earned her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa in 2009. Alison is an Academic Advisor for students who want to transfer to a four-year school, and she also helps to coordinate the Early Warning System by contacting Kirkwood students who need help successfully completing their degree at Kirkwood.

Steve has been with Kirkwood since 1998. He has been an Academic Advisor since May 2001. In the Advising & Transfer Center, Steve assists students in determining educational goals. He earned his A.A. degree from Kirkwood Community College and his B.A. in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa. Steve also teaches Boxing and Self Defense through Kirkwood's Continuing Education Department.

Kate began working at Kirkwood in the summer of 2008. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Communication Studies from the University of Iowa and is pursuing her Masters of Organizational Leadership at St. Ambrose University. Kate is an academic advisor for students looking to transfer to four-year institutions and refers students to Kirkwood resources so that they can be successful.

Darin graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in Fairbank, Iowa, in 1991 and went to Coe College from 1991-1995, where he received a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in Physical Education. In the Advising & Transfer Center he works with new and returning Arts and Science students helping them obtain their academic goals, whether it be graduating from Kirkwood, transferring on to a four-year insitution or just taking a few classes for personal enrichment.

Laura earned her A.A. degree from Illinois Valley Community College and her B.A. degree in Social Science and Education from Upper Iowa University in 1990. Prior to coming to Kirkwood in 2000, she worked as an admission counselor at Upper Iowa for nine years. In addition to serving Arts and Sciences students, she also assists in advising Kirkwood Social Science career option students.

Angela became an Academic Advisor for the Advising and Transfer Center in 2006. She assists new and returning students enroll in classes to continue a successful education. In May 2008, Angela graduated from Kirkwood with her Associates Degree in Nursing, which is in addition to the B.A. in Social Work she obtained from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994. Angela first joined Kirkwood in 2000, as a Workforce Career Consultant with the Skills to Employment Division.

Joe earned his AA degree from North Iowa Area Community College and his BA degree from Buena Vista University in 2002. He is currently working towards a Masters in Physical Education at Indiana State University. Joe joined the Advising and Transfer Center team in September 2007. He assists new and returning students with obtaining their future academic goals.
