Save on your college costs, whether you earn a career degree or start your college years at Kirkwood. Unlike some colleges, we do not charge additional fees to use the computer lab, recreation center and other services. When you consider our tuition costs together with the valuable scholarships awarded by the Kirkwood Foundation, Kirkwood provides quality, assessible education that’s affordable.

Kirkwood offers one of the lowest tuition rates in Iowa, and more than 60 percent of students attending Kirkwood receive some form of financial aid. Combined with the Kirkwood Foundation’s efforts to provide scholarships (more than $1 million awarded every year), this makes affording a quality education attainable for all our students.

Beginning Fall 2009, Iowa resident tuition will be $111 per credit hour*. That means a typical three-credit-hour course will cost about $333. Tuition for an average, full-time semester class schedule (15 credit hours) is $1,665. An entire program (two years of study, 62 credit hours for transfer) could cost approximately $6,882.

Nonresident* tuition is $136 per credit hour, therefore, tuition for an average, full-time schedule (15 semester hours) is $2,040 per semester. An entire program (two years of study, 62 credit hours) could cost approximately $8,432.

International* student tuition is $222 per credit hour. For a full-time student, books cost approximately $400 (new) per semester.

* Tuition for Distance Learning courses is $111 per credit hour for residents, nonresidents, and internationals.
