  • know when my tuition is due?

Tuition is due two weeks before the term starts. Kirkwood reserves the right to cancel your registration if you have not made payment arrangements or paid your tuition in full, but this in no way relieves the student from their responsibility to pay the bill or drop their classes.  If you do not plan to attend Kirkwood, you must drop prior to the end of the first week of classes to avoid owing for classes which you have registered.  Failure to attend class or telling a staff member/faculty that you do not plan to attend class does not cancel your registration or your bill.

  • know when I will receive my financial aid check?

Refund checks are mailed approximately two weeks after classes begin. The checks are issued by Kirkwood Community College and mailed to the address on file. Be sure to keep it current! Remember, if you have a hold on your account, your refund will not be issued until it is resolved.

First time borrowers must wait 30 days from the start of the term. Disbursement of funds will be divided into two (2) payments. The first payment will be issued after 30 days of class and will be credited towards tuition first with the remaining funds going to the student. The remaining payment will be issued halfway through the loan period. (For example, if the loan period is for fall only it will be issued halfway through that term, or if the loan period if for fall and spring the remaining payment will be issued at the beginning of the spring term.) Again any tuition debt will be paid first with the remaining funds going to the student.
