AGC Foundation Construction Management Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Construction Management.
  • Must plan to pursue a career in highway, bridge, or municipal and utility construction.
  • Preference given to a student who plans to stay in Iowa to work.
  • Preference given to a student who has participated in extra-curricular activities and summer internships.
  • Must participate in an interview with AGC of Iowa Foundation representatives.
  • The department coordinator, Industrial Technologies, will initiate the scholarship application process.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

B.A. and Margaret Jensen Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be a resident of Iowa.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference given to students enrolled in Construction Management, Practical Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing or be pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in nursing.
  • Preference given to a returning adult student who is attending Kirkwood to enhance or develop career goals.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Cedar Rapids Region Antique Automobile Club of America Scholarship
Amount $1,600 per year

  • Must be enrolled in 12 credit hours or more.
  • Student must be enrolled in Automotive Technology or Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Preference given to a student with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
  • Student must be a resident of Linn, Benton, Iowa, Cedar, Johnson, Jones, or Washington County.
  • Must be willing to attend and speak at a CRRAACA meeting.
  • Recipient will receive a free membership to the club.

 

Cedar Rapids Truck Center Endowed Scholarship
Amount $500 per year

  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in either Diesel Truck Technology or Automotive Technology with preference given to employees of Cedar Rapids Truck Center.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Cedar River Paper Industrial Technologies Scholarship
Amount $1,000 per year 

  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Technologies.
  • Preference given to students enrolled in Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology.
  • Preference given to minority (under-represented race, ethnicity and gender) applicants.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

  

Centro, Inc. Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Maintenance/HVAC Technology, CNC Machining Technology, or CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Preference given to applicant who has an immediate family member employed at Centro, Inc.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference given to applicants who demonstrate financial need.

 

CIVCO Medical Solutions Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year 

  • Must be enrolled in CNC Machining Technology or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technologies.
  • Preference to a second-year student with a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference to a student who resides in Henry, Washington or Johnson county.

Corn Country Cruisers Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Automotive Technology or Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must be a graduate of Highland, Keota, Mid-Prairie, Waco or Washington High School.

 

Craig E. Thomas Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Technologies with preference given to students enrolled in Automotive Technology or Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Preference given to an adult student(s) age 30+.

 

David John Dillman Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Dillman family has established this endowment as a memorial to their son and brother, David John Dillman, who was a 1987 graduate of Kirkwood's Electronics Engineering Technology program. Kirkwood Community College launched David's successful, eighteen-year career in avionics at Rockwell Collins where he aquired several government patents and held top-level security clearance. David's drive and ambition were the catalysts for his ultimate success.


Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average in the first year to be eligible for consideration of a second-year award.
  • Recipients must reapply for one additional year of support.
  • Must be a resident of Iowa with preference given to applicants from central Iowa and priority given to applicants from East Marshall.
  • Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need.

 

Design Engineers Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be be a resident of Iowa.
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in Architectural Technology, CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology or be pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in engineering.

 

Edwin F. and CharLes Klouda Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year 

  • Must be a full-time student enrolled in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining Technology. 
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Five Rivers Carpenters JATC Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Carpentry, Construction Management, Architectural Technology or pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in engineernig.
  • Must be a resident of eastern Iowa.
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Preference given to sons or daughters of Union Carpenter members in good standing.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

G. Richard and Jacqueline R. Johnson Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year 

  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Technologies or Business and Information Technology (computer emphasis) program.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Preference given to students who have multiple barriers to success in education.
  • Must be a resident of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones, Johnson, Linn or Washington County.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Gazette Communications
Amount: $1,000 per year 

  • Must be enrolled in Graphic Communication Technology, Communications Media/Public Relations (with an emphasis in print journalism or broadcast),  Electronics Engineering Technology (with an emphasis in broadcast) or Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average.

General Mills Diversity in Technology Scholarship
Amount: $3,750 for one year; $7,500 total for two-year award 

  • Must be a first-semester student.
  • Must indicate how you meet the criteria of an under-represented gender or race.
  • Must be a full-time student in the Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology.
  • Must be an Iowa resident

  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference will be given to a Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association member, family member or employees and their families of one of the member firms.
  • Must indicate how you meet this membership requirement.
  • Consideration given to students not affiliated with the Greater Cedar Rapids Home Builders Association, but award will then be based on demonstrated financial need.

 

Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association/Ben Moore Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year 

  • Must be enrolled in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Maintenance Technology & HVAC Technology, Carpentry, HVAC Installer, Plumbing Technology or Masonry Construction.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference will be given to a Greater Iowa City Home Builders Association member, family member or employee and their families of one of the member firms.
  • Must indicate how you meet this membership requirement.
  • Consideration also will be given to students not affiliated with the Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association, but award will then be based on demonstrated financial need.

Amount: $1,600 per year

  • Preference given to students enrolled in 12 credit hours or more.
  • Must be enrolled in Automotive Technology or Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Preference given to a student with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
  • Must be a resident of Linn, Benton, Iowa, Cedar, Johnson, Jones or Washington County.
  • Must be willing to attend a club meeting and a Saturday morning tech seminar.

  • Scholarship recipient(s) will have opportunities for part-time employment during the academic year.

Rockwell Collins Career Edge Academy Scholarship
Amount: $1,500 per year 

  • Preference given to high school Career Edge Academy program graduates.
  • Must be enrolled in Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology, CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Information Systems Management, LAN Management, PC Technician or Pre-Engineering.
  • Preference given to traditionally underrepresented groups including ethnic and racial groups, females, and/or individuals with disabilities.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average in the first year at Kirkwood to be eligible for consideration of a second-year award.
  • Recipients must reapply for one additional year of support.

Amount: $1,500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Construction Management, Carpentry, Architectural Technology or Masonry Construction.
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Indicate community involvement with intent to work in the Cedar Rapids area.
  • Preference will be given to a student who is a single parent or from a single-parent home (must indicate how you meet the criteria).

  • Must be enrolled in Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology, Computer Support Specialist, CAD/Mechanical Engineering or pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in engineering.

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.

 

STEM Scholars Program
Amount: Up to $4,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled full-time in one of the following transfer programs of study: Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Environmental Science, Exercise Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology--or be enrolled in one of the following career technical programs:  Agriculture Graphic information Systems, CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering Technology, Geographic Information Systems, LAN Management, Parks and Natural Resources, Telecommunication Technology.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed prerequisite course work with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Students new to Kirkwood meeting minimum requirements may be asked to submit high school and college transcripts.
  • Must be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States, aliens admitted as refugees, or, aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence.
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as determined by the U.S. Department of Education for need-based federal financial aid. Students who do not meet the need-based criteria are still eligible for a $1,000 award.

  • Must be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States, aliens admitted as refugees, or, aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence.
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as determined by the U.S. Department of Education for need-based federal financial aid.

Traer Municipal Utilities Scholarship
Amount $500 per year

  • Must have applied and been accepted (or currently enrolled) into the Water Environmental Technology or Energy Production & Distribution Technologies program.
  • Must be a graduate of North Tama County Community Schools, or, immediate family (father-mother) or legal guardian must be a current customer of Traer Municipal Utilities.
  • Non-traditional students, such as persons seeking a career change are also eligible.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 high school grade point average.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grage point average while enrolled in the program.
  • Submit two letters of reference frmo a high school teacher, guidance counselor, former employer, or current employer indicating the student's interest in and potential for success in this career field.

 

Van Meter Scholarship
Amount: $1,500

  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology or be pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in engineering.
  • Preference given to a resident of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones, Johnson, Linn or Washington County.
