Administrative Assistant Scholarship
Amount: Up to $150 for spring semester

  • Must be currently enrolled in Administrative Assistant.
  • Award will be applied to spring semester.
  • The March 15 application deadline does not apply for this award.  The Administrative Assistant coordinator will announce the application process at the beginning of spring semester 2013.

 

Apparel Merchandising Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Apparel Merchandising with strong interest in apparel merchandising career.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. 
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Bankers Trust Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Services or pursuing an A.A. degree in business.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Bradley & Riley PC Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in the Computer Information Systems, Computer Support Specialist  or LAN Management program.
  • Must be committed to work in Linn, Johnson or Polk County after graduation.

 

Catherine H. Campion Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Women in Business
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in a business program.
  • Must be female student over 20 years of age.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate a focus in vocational training, a commitment to their program, a desire to continue education, and willingness to work in chosen career path.

 

Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust Company Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Financial Services.
  • Award to a student from Linn, Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones or Washington County.

 

Cedar Valley APICS, The Society for Operations Management Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year 

  • Must be a second-year student in Business Administration, Management or pursuing an A.A. degree with career interest in computer science.
  • Must be a resident of Iowa.
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Must attend and address one dinner meeting of the Cedar Valley Chapter.

 

Cedar Valley Chapter of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Financial Services or Management.
  • Must be a second-year student.
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Must desire to work in the insurance field. 
  • Must be a student from Eastern Iowa.

 

Chris and Suzy DeWolf Family Business Scholarship
Amount: $2,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in a Business & Information Technology program.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be a graduate of a high school in Linn County, Iowa, with preference for Cedar Rapids Community School District graduates.

 

Collins Community Credit Union Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in Accounting, Business Administration, or Financial Services program. 
  • Must be a member of the Collins Community Credit Union and should indicate this in summary statement.

 

Dean A. Dunlap Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must be a resident of Iowa.
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of nine hours at Kirkwood in Accounting.

Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Technologies or Business & Information Technology (computer emphasis) program.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Preference will be given to students who have multiple barriers to success in education.
  • Must be a resident of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones, Johnson, Linn or Washington County.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Gazette Communications
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Graphic Communication Technology, Communications Media/Public Relations (with an emphasis in print journalism or broadcast) or Electronics Engineering Technology (with an emphasis in broadcast), or Industrial Maintenance & HVAC Technology.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average.

 

Gray Venture Partners Scholarship
Amount: $2,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in an Information Technologies program.
  • Preference given to a non-traditional student.

 

Highway Equipment Company Business Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be pursuing an A.S. degree with career interest in engineering or enrolled in Business Administration.
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.

  • Must be enrolled in Accounting. 
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Must show evidence of leadership qualities and exhibit work habits that indicate future success in business.

  

Lyle Natvig Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be a second-year student enrolled in Marketing Management.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

McGladrey & Pullen Endowed Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in Accounting.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Millhiser Smith Foundation Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year

  • Must be enrolled in the Business Administration or Accounting program.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Preference given to students who demonstrate a career interest in insurance.

 

Nancy T. Aronson Day Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be a non-traditional female student.
  • Must be enrolled in Business & Information Technology program and taking at least one accounting class.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Robert and Doris French Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year 

  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in Liberal Arts or Graphic Communication Technology.
  • Must indicate intention of transferring to a four-year institution upon graduation.
  • First preference will be given to a student studying illustration, photography or graphic design. Students participating in performing arts will also be considered.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Robert and Elizabeth Allsop Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year

  • Must be enrolled in Computer Information Systems, Computer Support Specialist or Local Area Network (LAN) Management.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Rockwell Collins Career Edge Academy Scholarship
Amount: $1,500 per year

  • Preference given to high school Career Edge Academy program graduates.
  • Must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology, CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Information Systems Management, LAN Management, PC Technician or Pre-Engineering.
  • Up to 50 percent of scholarships will be targeted to women and minority students.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average in the first year at Kirkwood to be eligible for consideration of a second-year award.
  • Recipients must reapply for one additional year of support.

 

Rohde Family Business Administration Scholarship
Amount: $1,500 per year

  • Must have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Must be enrolled in Business Administration or pursuing an A.A. degree with career interest in business.
  • Preference given to students who are single parents or from single-parent homes.
  • Must indicate community involvement with intent to work in the Cedar Rapids area. 

 

S.C.O.R.E. Scholarship (Service Corps of Retired Executives)
Amount: $250 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Business & Information Technology program.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Skogman Companies Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year 

  • Must be enrolled in Construction Management, Carpentry, Masonry Construction, Plumbing Technology, Architectural Technology or Management.
  • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

STEM (NSF) Scholars Program
Amount: $1,000 per student

  • Must be enrolled full-time in one of the following transfer programs of study: Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Exercise Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology--or be enrolled in one of the following career technical programs:  Agriculture Graphic Information Systems, CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering Technology, Geographic Information Systems, LAN Management, Parks and Natural Resources, Telecommunication Technology.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed prerequisite course work with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Students new to Kirkwood meeting minimum requirements may be asked to submit high school and college transcripts.
  • Must be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States, aliens admitted as refugees, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence.
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as determined by the U.S. Department of Education for need-based federal financial aid. Students who do not meet the need-based criteria are still eligible for a $1,000 award. Students receiving awards must meet the requirements and standards of the STEM Scholars Program.

Amount: $1,000 per student

  • Must be a current, full-time student.
  • Recipients must work with a STEM advisor to build class schedules.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed prerequisite course work with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Must be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States, aliens admitted as refugees, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence.
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as determined by the U.S. Department of Education for need-based federal financial aid.
  • Students receiving awards must meet the requirements and standards of the STEM Scholars Program.

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Scholarship
Amount: Up to $500 per year

  • Must be second-year student who was actively involved in the Students for Free Enterprise Club during your first year at Kirkwood.
  • Demonstrate how you made a difference and developed leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. (Must indicate how you meet the criteria).

 

Susan Millsap DeSotel Scholarship
Amount: $500 per year 

  • Must be a female student, enrolled in Business Administration.

 

West Bank Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 per year

  • Must be enrolled in Business & Information Technology with preference given to students in Financial Services.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Wilfrid L. Struve Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Amount: Varies per year  

  • Must be enrolled in Management, Accounting, Business Administration or Financial Services.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
