How can the Correspondence program make a difference for students?
The correspondence program is designed to help students and others who want to complete a high school degree, which opens the door to many opportunities.

What is the best part of your job?
I am able to do a variety of activities and work with a variety of individuals.

What is the best part of teaching at Kirkwood?
I receive good support from colleagues and staff to do things to help students achieve success.

What is your approach to teaching?
I feel that learning needs to be designed so that students can apply what they learn to their lives.

It means that by enrolling in a high schol credit program we can open the door to so many opportunities.

A staff that cares about each learner.

The faculty and staff at Kirkwood are very dedicated.

Describe your job duties/responsibilities.
I help students in the Lincoln Center. I teach structured social studies courses, and coordinate the high school distance learning program.

What was your first paid job?
I worked for a photography studio, helping with weddings, senior portraits and various tasks.

If you could work in any other profession in the world, what would it be?
Public service and government has always been an interest of mine.

What do you do for fun?
Spend time with my wife and two children.

What's the best part of your job?
It seems like no day is the same.

What would you tell someone who may be considering working at Kirkwood?
I've been very happy and pleased with how I've been accepted and treated by staff and students.

Talk to a professor or someone in the department you're interested in entering. They can help you know if Kirkwood's right for you.

What advice would you give a high school student preparing to attend college?
Take your high school classes seriously. Being well prepared in high school will help you in college.
