What stands out about Kirkwood to you?
Kirkwood has allowed me to develop in every area of my profession - as a teacher, a curriculum chair for our program, and as the chair for the Adult High School Graduation Ceremony.
What is one of the most memorable moments at Kirkwood?
Watching a student who doesn't believe in his or her potential or abilities blossom in a nurturing environment such as we offer at Lincoln.
What keeps you motivated?
Having students get excited about learning and knowing what we do here makes a difference in many lives.
What is the best part of your job?
Working in the science classes with our students and working one-on-one with high school and GED students on math.
What is the best part of teaching at Kirkwood?
That I am given the flexibility and freedom to grow as an educator.

I believe most Kirkwood faculty are team players and try their hardest to assist new faculty and students.
What is your approach to teaching?
I believe most students learn best by experiencing learning through experimentation, demonstrations, research projects and Internet simulations.

If offers the core courses needed to start a student down the path towards their college degree, with a caring faculty and smaller class sizes.
How does Kirkwood create a lifetime of opportunities?
From secondary program to ESL, from college transfer courses to continuing education enrichment courses, Kirkwood offers courses which satisfy the need for most adults in our community.

Small class sizes in our programs and accessibility to staff for out-of-class help.

Share an enlightening student experience you've had at Kirkwood.
I have seen many students go from "failures" in their minds, because of the fact that they dropped out of a traditional high school, come to be "successes" by completing their diploma or GED with us.
