Kirkwood Community College’s High School Distance Learning Program has partnered with APEX Learning to offer online courses.

Students taking an online course will have four months from the date of enrollment to complete their course. The student and test proctor will receive an introductory e-mail containing startup information after the registration form has been received.

The cost of a Kirkwood HSDL course is $150 per semester for in-state students, $200 for out-of state students. Textbooks are only required for select English and Science courses and require a $60 book deposit.  (Chemistry S-1 Earth Science,Introduction to English Literature and Composition, British and World Literature,Critical Reading and Effective Writing, and American Literature.)  Each course is instructor-facilitated by a licensed Iowa teacher.  Students taking these courses will be assigned a teacher certified in that subject area.  This teacher is available on a regular basis via email to assist the student as they work through the course material.
