You can choose between Kirkwood’s two convenient high school diploma programs

Independent study courses at one of Kirkwood’s many locations.
There is no tuition cost to qualifying adults 21 and older who take courses at a Kirkwood location. A refundable $60 book deposit is required for select courses.

A tuition charge is assessed to students under 21. Courses previously taken at an accredited high school may be applied toward the Kirkwood Adult High School diploma.

Kirkwood HSDL (High School Distance Learning)
Tuition fees are assessed. Courses previously taken at an accredited high school may be applied toward the Kirkwood Adult High School diploma.

Commencement Ceremony
An Adult High School commencement ceremony is held every May in Cedar Rapids. All Kirkwood Adult High School and GED graduates from the past year are encouraged to participate!

Effective March 9, 2009, all requests for Adult High School records must be made using our Transcript Request Form.
