Pre-Algebra

Pre-Algebra (3 credits) is a class designed specifically for students with weak math background and need to improve math skills before enrolling in Elementary Algebra and Survey of Math.  Pre-Algebra introduces basic algebra concepts and reviews some basic arithmetic with an algebra emphasis. Topics include fractions, decimals, proportions, percents, perimeter, area, volume, integers, exponents, simple equations, polynomials, and graphing.

Intro to Mathematics

Intro to Mathematics is the required math course for the Health Science students. Intro to Math (3 credits) will meet the math requirements for END Technician. Intro to Math (2 credits) is taken by all other health students except the nursing students. The course covers any arithmetic and algebra skills needed in the respective programs as well as measurement systems and health specific math content.

PA Math for Support

P.A. Math for Support is an individualized course designed as a support course for those concurrently enrolled in another math course on campus. Students may prepare for specific tests, or review specific math topics they need for their programs or majors. Topics may include whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio & proportions, percent, algebra, trigonometry, the metric system, introduction to statistics, metrology, and technical math. Students may get individualized help with a math class, which they are taking (such as Basic Math, various Algebra classes, Finite Math or Metrology.)
