Apply for Financial Aid
|
| |
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. To receive full financial consideration for the fall semester, it is best to submit your completed application by March 1. Please note that funding for applications completed after June 1 cannot be guaranteed for the beginning of the Fall term. However, rest assured that applications are accepted anytime during the financial aid award year. Stafford Loans and Pell Grants, in particular, are not dependent on an early filing of the FAFSA.
Apply for federal financial aid online at http://www.fafsa.gov/ (Kirkwood's school code is 004076). For additional application details, contact the Financial Aid Office at 319-398-7600 or by e-mail.
Approximately 3-5 days after you submit your FAFSA online, you will receive Student Aid Report (SAR) via email from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). You may also review the information you submitted at http://www.fafsa.gov/. If you have not received a SAR within four weeks of submitting your FAFSA, call 1-800-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243).
