Food Service Assistant
Program description: The Food Service Assistant program provides students with the technical knowledge and skills required to enter the quantity food preparation and service industry. Students prepare for their careers through practical experience in food preparation and service. Students assist in the operation of The Class Act, a full-service restaurant at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. The restaurant features fine dining for hotel and conference center guests, Kirkwood staff and the public. All of the hospitality courses are taught in The Hotel. Food service workers assist cooks and chefs with the daily operations of kitchen and dining facilties. They perform a variety of tasks involved in preparing hot and cold food.
