Computer Information Systems

Computer Information Systems

Program description: Students who are creative with computer technology and want to work in the business world should consider a career in computer information systems. Computers and other information technologies are the technical foundations, or tools, of information systems.

Kirkwood offers two options for students interested in a career in computer information systems. The Associate of Applied Science degree provides graduates with the work skills needed for employment opportunities in the computer programming field. Students learn to design, write, test and document computer programs in languages such as Java, C++ and Visual Basic.NET. The Associate of Science/Career Option program prepares students to transfer to a four-year school and pursue a degree in Management Information Systems.
