Entry Time: Fall, Spring or Summer

Award: Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts

Students hoping to pursue music at a four-year college or professional institute typically follow the Liberal Arts program requirements while at Kirkwood. They complete a combination of general education and studio courses that prepare them to transfer. Music courses based upon interest can apply toward both the humanities and elective requirements needed for the Associate of Arts degree.

Kirkwood has articulation agreements with many of the four-year institutions in Iowa, including all three Regent universities. These articulation agreements help students through the transfer process. Students need to check with the Advising & Transfer Center (108 Iowa Hall) to find out specific requirements, such as foreign language, laboratory science, diversity and grade point average.

Students can view the Arts and Sciences requirements at http://www.kirkwood.edu/site/index.php?p=17429
