Horse Science Technology Program Description: The Horse Science Technology program prepares students for a variety of positions in the equine industry. More than 50 percent of instruction takes place in a laboratory setting using Kirkwood-owned horses. Advanced students can train their own horses or horses sponsored for training. The first year focuses on general health care, horsemanship, facility maintenance and mechanics. In the second year the student may chose a course of study in equine training or equine business management.
