Telecommunications Engineering Technology
2-year AAS degree

The Telecommunications Technology program gives students the education and skills necessary to succeed in the high-tech world of telecommunications.

Students in this program may be eligible to have half their tuition paid for by the Kibbie Grant.

Telecommunications Technology

During the first year, students receive a fundamental introduction to the basics of electrical circuits, system design and maintenance.

During the second year, students concentrate on fiber optics, telephony and other subjects critical to the understanding of telecommunication systems.

Students complete a paid internship at a telecommunications firm between their first and second years, which allows them to experience the job market firsthand. One of the highlights of this program is the state-of-the-art telecommunications lab located on campus. Students can transfer credits from this program to the University of Northern Iowa and work toward a Bachelor of Arts in technology management.
